My “beyond the talk” story
In every role I’ve held—whether as a Certified Athletic Trainer, a teacher, or working in the nonprofit world—there was always this extra part of me. My creative side. It wasn’t in the job description, but it kept showing up. I’d volunteer to sit on conference committees, manage social media for associations, or plan events that sparked connection and creativity. It wasn’t my “real job,” but it brought me joy. Real, soul-deep joy.
That’s when I realized: This wasn’t just a side passion. It was my calling. Dream Talk Management (DTM) was born out of that realization. But let me be honest: Starting my own business wasn’t just about doing work I loved.
It was about creating something I couldn’t find anywhere else.
Why not just keep doing this work within other organizations? The truth is, I tried. But over and over, I found myself disheartened. Company missions that didn’t align with their actions. Environments where authenticity was stifled, and creativity had to fit into neat, stifling boxes. I wasn’t willing to keep shrinking or conforming to make others comfortable.
So, I built something different. Dream Talk Management is a space where mission and action are inseparable. It’s a place where I—and my future team—can bring our whole selves to the table. No code-switching. No dimming our light. Just an unwavering commitment to being authentically and sustainably excellent.
And what is DTM? It’s the heart of everything I love to do: event management, digital content creation, website design, and stationery design. It’s a toolbox of services and products crafted to help you bring your dreams to life.
I used to tell clients I wanted to tell their stories. But the deeper I went into this work, the more I realized that wasn’t enough.
I don’t want to just tell your story—I want to amplify your voice.
I want to help you shout your message from the rooftops and share it with the world in a way only you can. Because here’s what I know for sure: Your dreams were placed in your heart for a reason. They’re not random. They’re yours because you’re the one meant to bring them to life. And you don’t have to do it alone.
Growing up, I saw firsthand how people with big dreams either made it or didn’t. And what made the difference? Community. It wasn’t just about emotional support; it was about access to information, mentorship, and people who understood where you wanted to go. When I was applying to college, it was Dr. Rachelle Rogers-Ard who looked over my essays, guiding me to put my best foot forward. Having her expertise as an educator and someone who had walked that path was a privilege I didn’t take lightly.
I don’t carry guilt for the opportunities I’ve had—I carry gratitude. Because now I understand what it takes to help someone be successful, and I can do that for others. This realization deepened after I lost both of my grandparents, The Dobies. Their sacrifices and legacy hit me with a question that wouldn’t let go: “What am I doing with my life?” Their lives lit a fire in me to make a difference, to honor their journey by maximizing the opportunities they helped create for me.
When I became a teacher, even though I only taught for two years, I saw the impact of presence and support up close. One of my students, a senior during my first year, told me, "If you had been here since my freshman year, my high school journey would’ve been so different.” Standing there, just a week before graduation, with him ready to cross the stage and his friend who wasn’t, I felt it deep in my spirit: I need to do more. I need to create something bigger, something that ensures my community is always supported, always seen, and always has access to the tools they need to thrive.
Dream Talk Management is my answer to a world that needs connection, creativity, and courage. I see a future lit by a community of luminaries—bright souls whose light inspires others to live their own dreams boldly. This is why DTM exists. It’s what fuels me every single day. And it’s what keeps me pushing forward, knowing the best is yet to come.
